Industrial is a clean theme with a natural look. The background can be removed for cleaner lines and the colors interchanged if needed. I tried to be a little more corporate with this theme, but can’t stop erring on the creative side. As with all themes, nothing is set in stone. This one allows you to use short codes in the widget areas and you can juggle what appears in the widget to your taste. What I have in the preview is just my vision. It doesn’t have to be yours.

Legacy was furthering the use of color, this time using the WordPress menu system with custom CSS, again converting a Photoshop PSD navigation image for use in this theme. This one is bright and artful, and incorporates more functions from Studiopress (those guys are awesome by the way). I played with gradients on the submit buttons and used multiple background images for the body. It was more a test of a few different ideas, but out of that came this beautiful theme.

Oblue was an endeavor in color, and also in using non-Wordpress menus. I wanted to see how to incorporate menus in the functions.php outside of the normal navigation, and it worked. I also wanted to see if I could take a Photoshop PSD navigation mock up and turn it into the real deal, CSS and all – that worked also. What I haven’t done is make it ‘responsive design’ ready, yet. I borrowed some techniques from Studiopress themes, since I’m a pro member, and added some colorful flair. This is the result.

Notebook started out looking like a notebook, but as you can see it took a swing over to something a little more colorful. I haven’t changed the name (yet), but I think this is now complete. There were some challenges with transparency, and I’m sure the transparency won’t translate that well in pre IE9 browsers. That being said, it is somewhat bold. As with all the themes I design here, it was more testing different ways to build a new theme, than designing something for someone, so to speak.

Corporation started out as an attempt to build a corporate style website, but I guess my creative side takes over every time. As you can see, it has a smoother feel but still has a slightly artsy feel, and I’m happy with it that way. I know I still have to fix the responsive design so that the featured posts portion flows on smaller screens – I’ll get to that when I can, definitely before I upload it for sale. That being said, it’s usable as it is. The next one is going to be colorful – I can feel it!
